A REPORT ON EARTH DAY 2023
Like every year, this year too, Earth Day was observed by St. Peter’s school on 29thth of April, 2023. The school hosted an inter – house competition to mark the occasion by organising EARTH DAY ACTIVITIES based on the theme ‘INVEST IN OUR PLANET’. The pre-primary department kids celebrated EARTH DAY by doing a Hand Print Art. The primary department also celebrated EARTH DAY with great enthusiasm and fervour. They did a paper plate earth day craft which was equally creative and attractive. ‘Creating bottled hanging garden’ was the activity which was done by the middle school and they did justice to it by their innovative ideas. The senior department also presented their ideas in doing the ‘Hang an Earth Day Banner’. It was both individual and a group activity.

A REPORT ON MOTHER’S DAY A special celebration on Mother’s Day was organized on 12th May’ 2023. The whole school dedicated their few minutes to thank their mother for all the sacrifices they do for the family welfare and who also play a pivotal role in shaping the personalities and strengthening the family bonding. It was conducted by the class teachers of each class at their convenient time. Special songs, dances, art work and poetic recitation were presented to celebrate Mother’s Day.
A REPORT ON INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2023
St. Peter’s school too observed International Yoga Day on 21/6/23 with full spirit and joy. A formal programme was conducted during School Hours at 9.30 am. A mass Yoga session was conducted by sports teacher of our school, Mr. Satyajit Biswas and a sum of 250 students comprising of both boys and girl students from Grade 3 to Grade 6 participated in the session.
A REPORT ON INTER HOUSE ENGLISH, HINDI AND BENGALI ELOCUTION COMPETITION 2023
The students of class VI to class XII of St. Peter’s school prepared themselves for an Elocution competition in all the three languages -English, Hindi and Bengali that was conducted on 3rd August,2023. The participants were allowed to speak on the topics of their own for a duration of 2 minutes. Each student delivered their level best performance and kept the show alive with their powerful speeches.
A REPORT ON INTER HOUSE ENGLISH AND BENGALI CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION 2023
St. Peter’s school organised an inter house English and Bengali creative writing competition on 24/6/23. The students from middle school to senior secondary school participated in the competition. The topics were – Pollution due to urbanization, Plastics should be banned, Social media is a dangerous arena and My parents decided to do the things I do. The topics were unusual and provoked the imaginary thinking of students. Students gave full expression to their creative ideas and penned them down in the form of beautiful essays and compositions.

St.Peter’s school, Durgapur, celebrated ‘International Dance Day’ with zeal. The school marked the day with special dance performances staged on 5/8/23. An inter-house dance competition was conducted wherein little champs of the primary wing to class 12 showcased their talent through various dance forms.
A REPORT ON INTER HOUSE WORLS MUSIC DAY COMPETITION 2023
The World Music Day was enthusiastically celebrated by the students of St. Peter’s school on 12/8/23. The event started with solo song presentation by the students of classes 6 to 12 that made the audience dive into an ambience of tranquillity. There was also a group song presentation which added more fun, happiness and enthusiasm. The concluding presentation was instrumental music by the students of classes 6 and 10 and each one played a melodious tune.
A REPORT ON SUPW PROJECT 2023
As part of the Council proposed SUPW project, students of classes IX, X, XI & XII have enthusiastically participated in various activities which not only exhibited their essential life skills but also instilled in them a sense of social responsibility. Held on the 12th of August 2023, these activities were undertaken keeping in mind our students’ environmental and social exposure along with the acquired knowledge. The activity chosen for classes IX & X was Making of Paper Bag and that of XI & XII was Envelope Making. The items required for the activities were all environment friendly.

“Trees exhale for us so that we can inhale oxygen to stay alive. Let us love trees with every breath we take until we perish.”One of the most celebrated festivals related to forests & trees is Van mahaotsav , a week -long celebration that is dedicated to Mother Earth in order to protect life support system on the planet. This year the pre-primary department children celebrated this day on 7th July 2023 aiming to plant more trees & promote environmental conservation. The Pre-nursery children coloured beautiful butterflies . The nursery children made a tree pasting leaves . The Kindergarten children printed a tree using bubble paper. This day was celebrated with great enthusiasm among the children of the pre-primary department.

Father’s day is celebrated world wide to recognise the contribution that father’s make in the lives of their children which usually go unnoticed. The children of Pre-primary department made a special effort for their father’s. They poured out their love by writing beautiful quotes in it. The Pre-nursery & nursery children made beautiful cards. The Kindergarten children made a cow boy hat for their father. The children went back home happily & hugged their father & said, “ I love you Daddy.” “ Dad is a child’s hero, role model & their source of inspiration. There is no teacher equal to mother than the dignity of a father.”

Raksha Bandhan is an Indian celebration of sisterly and brotherly respect and love. ‘Raksha’ means protection and ‘Bandhan’, to tie. A sister will wrap a red-and-gold rakhi (sacred thread of love) round her brother's wrist and say a prayer for his wellbeing, as she makes a mark on his forehead with red powder.To mark this occasion, on 22.08.2023, the pre-primary department children made different types of Rakhis.The Pre-nursery kiddos made rakhis with ribbon & sequence.The Nursery children made rakhis with different decorative items they had as waste at home.The Kindergarten children made beautiful rakhis with sequence.They took back the rakhis and wrapped it round their brothers wrist

“Friendship is one bond that never ceases.From sharing happy moments to sad ones, friends are the life support that helps one get through the most enjoyable and difficult circumstances. “We need friends all the time, and if a true friend is with us, then the moment is different. For any need, we can take help from friends and live the best life. We are moving forward in this modern era. People who cannot give time to their friends, Friendship Day motivates all those people to meet their friends. There is no friendship between the two, no relationship can stay long. On this day, each friend gives a friendship band to another friend. The children Pre-primary department too made beautiful bands with beads, colourful badges for their best friend & gave as a gift to their friend on 04.08.2023.

Our grandparents are the life makers of our parents, and without their contributions, we as kids would not have learnt so much about life. They might not be professional teachers, but they teach us every day about life. They narrate different stories to us, which have a beautiful moral at the end.To show gratitude & love for grandparents, on 04.08.2023, the children of Pre-primary department made colourful bouquet with paper flowers. It was a beautiful moment for all grandparents when the little buddies hugged them & presented them the bouquet.
A REPORT ON PRE-INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION 2023
Independence Day is a historic moment for any nation. It is the day the country celebrates its freedom from foreign rule and honours the freedom fighters who struggled for independence. Students of Pre-primary department made different types of Our National Flag to commemorate this auspicious day on 11.08.2023. The Pre-nursery kiddos make a poster of a flag using their hand prints. They also decorated tri-colour sweets & sandwiches. The Nursery children made a flag & a soldier with colour papers & ice-cream sticks. The Kindergarten children made flags with colourful paper flowers. The school also organised a fancy dress competition for classes Pre-nursery to 3 Where they dressed up as different national leaders who contributed their life for India’s independence. Prizes were given to the best from each class . It was a small initiative taken by the teachers that made children proud of their country’s history and national leaders.
A REPORT ON MONSOON ACTIVITY 2023
Children love to play in the puddles and feel the raindrops on their faces. Some people enjoy staying indoors, listening to the soothing sound of rain, and sipping on a hot cup of cocoa. Rainy days are a time when nature gets a good drink, and everything looks clean and green. The children of Pre-primary department enjoyed this season by doing different activities on 21.07.2023. The Pre-nursery kiddos made beautiful umbrellas using marble papers & colours. They also learnt the use of an umbrella during rainy season. The Nursery children made beautiful boats with raindrops. They went out & sailed many boats in the puddles .How they enjoyed the day!!!! The Kindergarten children made varieties of fish using handprints. It was a mark of remembrance for these children which they will never forget in their lifetime.

Diwali is often called the ‘Festival of Lights’, and is celebrated by lighting lamps, and bursting crackers and fireworks. It is a festival that symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness.”To mark this occasion on 03.11.2023, children of Pre-primary department made colourful “Diyas” out of paper, clay & sequences. The children tried to express their views and convey their feelings about the essence of the auspicious festival.
EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS 2024
Co-curricular activities are a crucial and essential component of the curriculum in today's educational system. Students observed Earth Day on 26/4/24 by doing an activity and shared their reflections on what Earth Day means to them and expressed that every day should be an Earth Day for every citizen of the planet Earth. A special morning assembly too was conducted by students of class 12 to inspire all to rejoice and cherish the beautiful planet and to awaken the people on how they can be an asset in saving the Earth from pollution, global warming, water scarcity and other several concerns.
INTER HOUSE INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY COMPETITION 2024
International Dance Day was celebrated on 7/5/24 with great pomp and vigour. This day was celebrated to give value to this spectacular art form. We believe that the power of dance is limitless. The students from classes pre-nursery to class XII celebrated this art form through an inter house competition. The theme western or Classical was appropriately chosen to celebrate the occasion. All the students participated with a lot of zeal and vigour and wholeheartedly gave their best. Students were finally applauded for their efforts by the Principal and the Judges. It was indeed a splendid show by the supremely talented students of our school.
MOTHER'S DAY 2024
The bond of a mother and her child is inexplicable and to celebrate this bond, Mother’s Day is observed every year on 8th of May. The Pre- Primary and Primary Wing of our School celebrated this day on 9/5/24 with great zeal and exuberance. The students had something more special and unique to bring a smile on their beloved mother's face. They passionately got involved in making beautiful greeting cards for their mothers.

Amidst rising concerns over climate change, resource depletion, and biodiversity loss, Global Warming etc St. Peter's school organised a rally on 19/6/24 to mark the World Environment Day 2024 to spread awareness on the sustainability of our environment and action for the protection of the same The rally was conducted in two shifts(8.15 am -9.15am and 9.30 am - 10.30 am ) in two different areas ( A-zone and B-zone) and students of classes 2 - 6 participated in the rally . Our SMT team, house masters and house mistresses , teachers, service staff too participated in the rally. It was a delightful sight to see the students decked up in accordance with the theme of the world environment Day. The day aimed to engage young and old people and communities in environmental activities and save the planet. The competition concluded with mass yoga conducted by the physical education teacher and the asanas were demonstrated by an expert Yoga teacher who was also the judge for the competition.She encouraged students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration.

VAN MAHOTSAV 2024
Like every year. Van Mahotsav was celebrated in our school on 5th July’ 2024. The aim to celebrate this “festival of trees” was to bring awareness about the harm caused by the cutting down of trees and to encourage children to plant more trees as they play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance. Class 4 to class 8 children planted saplings in pot and decorated their class and class 9 to class 12 actively participated in inter house creative writing competition.
FATHER'S DAY 2024
Father’s Day is a celebration honouring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society.Students of pre- primary and Class 1 of St.Peter's school celebrated Father's Day on 28/6/24 to honour their father and the father figures in one’s life. This was an occasion to express gratitude towards one’s father for all their love and support. As a personal touch to the celebration, the children made greeting cards and tie for their fathers, expressing their love and gratitude to surprise their fathers!

Report on 'Safe Drive Save life' Awareness Programme Date - 05.08.2024 Venue- School Auditorium Organiser: Asansol Durgapur Traffic police . St.Peter's School is very grateful to the Asansol Durgapur traffic police for organising ' Safe drive Save life' Awareness Programme. The dignitaries who graced the programme are Mr. Binay Nayak , Asansol Durgapur Traffic Police Commissioner and Mr . Indrajit Nayek , Traffic Police Sub Inspector. Before the awareness programme commenced, they felicitated our Principal , Mr. John Paramata with memento as a token of love and appreciation and expressed their joy in choosing our school as the Best Performance School among all schools in Durgapur for organising this awareness programme. The West Bengal government started a campaign called “Safe Drive, Save Life” to make our roads safer for everyone. The primary objective of 'Safe Drive Save Life' Awareness Programme was to promote road safety practices and instill a sense of responsibledriving among the community. The programme witnessed active participation from the students of St.Peter’s School of class 8 and 9, demonstrating their commitment to advocating safe driving habits. Under the guidance and leadership of Mr.Binay Nayak , Asansol Durgapur police commissioner and Mr. Indrajit Banerjee, Traffic sub inspector , the event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of following traffic rules, wearing seat belts, and adhering to speed limits. The Programme served as a reminder of the shared responsibility of the traffic department and the people in creating a safer environment on the roads.
