A REPORT ON RABINDRA JAYANTI ‘2023

Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary was observed at St. Peter’s School, Mirabai road, Durgapur on 8/5/23 with much enthusiasm, fervour and aplomb. The performers of primary section paid rich tribute on Gurudev’s birthday by offering dance, singing melodious songs, reciting poems and recitals from his repertoire in the first half in the assembly ground. After the recess, the middle school and senior secondary school also paid rich tributes to Rabindranath Tagore which was held in the Auditorium. Classical dance performance by the girls from classes 6th to 12th followed by an instrumental music by the students and the music teacher. They sang melodious songs and also recited poems and recitals that Rabindra Nath Tagore wrote.

A REPORT ON INDEPENDENCE DAY 2023

The 77th Independence Day was celebrated in our school on 15th August 2023 with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. All the students and teachers gathered in the school premises at 8 a.m. in the morning. In the presence of a gleeful gathering, the National Flag was hoisted and sang our National Anthem together. Then a senior teacher of our school shared her views on one of the burning issues of our nation. A cultural programme was also held in the school where students of senior section participated. A melodious patriotic song was sung by the students’ choir and teachers’ choir and few dance performances were also presented to mark the occasion. One of our senior Bengali teacher gave a speech on significance of Independence day.

A REPORT ON TEACHERS’ DAY 2023

This year also, for making the teachers feel special, the students of class 11 and 12 and also the management of St. Peter’s school organised Teachers’ day on the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan with great enthusiasm. Before the programs there were class teacher’s day. The students of each and every class had a memorable moment in their classroom with their teacher. Meanwhile, a brief photo session was arranged specially for the teachers in a grand way to make them feel special. A warm welcome at the school auditorium gate with flowers was a pleasant surprise for all the teachers. The program started at 10.30 a.m. with an opening dance. Students from class 6 to class 12 expressed their gratitude towards the teachers by giving short speeches. Students performed cultural activities like dance, songs poems, dramas, etc. on this special occasion. The students also arranged some fun games for the teachers to entertain them. Lastly, all the teachers assembled in the library for an audio-visual presentation and then they were called individually and gifts were distributed to all as a token of love and appreciation. The event ended by a delicious lunch treat to all the teachers.

A REPORT ON CHILDREN’S DAY 2023

St. Peter’s school, Durgapur celebrated Children’s day on the 14th November, 2023, with great festive fervour, to commemorate the 130th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The programme began with a special prayer and lighting the candle by Principal, Mr. John Paramata and our School Chaplin, Rev. Ray. In the first one hour, children spent their day with their class teacher and subject teachers in the class cutting the cake and sharing the favourite food they brought with other students followed by the cultural programme which had a series of interesting and exciting items, all planned meticulously for complete entertainment.

A REPORT ON CHRISTMAS CELERATION 2023

Christmas was celebrated with great pomp and show in St. Peter’s school on 14th December 2023. A crib of Jesus Christ was exhibited in the premises of the school signifying the birth of Jesus Christ. The Christmas celebration was graced by esteemed guests from the Diocese of Durgapur which added more joy to the celebration. Bishop and Chairman, Rt. Rev Rev. Sameet Issac Khimla was the Guest of Honour for the programme. The Christmas Celebration also marked the inauguration of Multipurpose hall and Junior Computer Lab by Chairman of St. Peter’s school, Rt. Rev Sameer Issac Khimla which signifies the addition to our developmental achievement of our school.

A REPORT ON ANNUAL SPORTS DAY 2023

On 9th December, 2023, St.Peter’s organised its highly anticipated Annual Sports Day in the spacious playground of ASP stadium. The sports day featured a diverse range of events, including track and field, team sports, and individual challenges. Field events were conducted in the school premises prior to the Annual Sports Day in order to save time. Students of various classes participated in the sports day. Annual Sports Day was conducted in two halves on 09/2/23. The first half began from 9.00am and the students from Pre-Nursery to class IV participated in the various inter house sports events. The esteemed guests who graced the Annual Sports Day in the first half were First lady of Diocese of Durgapur, Mrs. Sarika Khimla, Principal of St. Michael school, Mr. Charles Nycss, Chaplin of St.Peter’s school , Rev Rabindranath Ray, Secretary of Diocese , Rev. Samuel Halder, Treasurer of Diocese Mr. Hemant Marandi and James Mathew from St. Michael school. The Second Half of The Annual Sports Day began at 11.30 am. The guests of honour who graced the event in the second half were Bishop of Diocese of Durgapur and Chairman of St. Peter’s school, Rt. Rev. Sameer Issac Khimla, Secretary of St. Peter’s school, Mr. Sandipan Sinha, Principal of Bidhan School, Mr. Louis Lippert and a sports Personnel who is a Football coach, Mr. Ratan Maity. The events of the day came to an end with the Principal declaring the Best March Past (GREEN HOUSE) of the day and Best House(RED HOUSE) in all the Sports events after tabulating the house points.

A REPORT ON ANNUAL SCHOOL CARNIVAL 2023

The session 2023-24 ended with an exuberant Winter Carnival ‘FUN FIESTA’ celebration and a fun-filled day on Saturday, February 2023 organised by ST. PETER’S SCHOOL. Ranging from games stall, food stall, art and craft corner, selfie point, live band, gift stall, DJ, the plethora of experiences ensured that people from all age groups and milieu were engaged. The school ground pulsated with scintillating music and a lively crowd. It was a vibrant colourful day.

A memorable function was organized in our School with solemnity on 9th May ,2024 to celebrate Rabindra Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. The function included a cultural programme as well as speeches by teachers . Our Principal sir, Mr.John Paramata paid floral tribute to Rabindranath Tagore to begin with the function. There were several solo recitals of Tagore's song and poems by students and teachers . The programme ended with a speech by a senior school teacher. The programme made the students feel that Rabindranath is still very much alive in the lives of the Bengalis.

ANNUAL PRIZE DAY 2024

St.Peter's School held its Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony on 31/7/24 in the school auditorium. It was the time to applaud and reward the students for their sincere efforts during the previous academic session(2023-24).The awards, trophies and certificates were conferred upon the well deserving Peterians by the Chief Guest, Rt.Rev.Sameer Issac Khimla, Bishop of Diocese of Durgapur and Chairman of St.Peter's school and other dignitaries who had graced the occasion . It was indeed a proud moment not only for the recipients of the awards but also for their Parents who had been invited to partake in the glory of their child's success.
